Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a tax return cost?

Fees depend on the complexity of your return — number of forms, Schedule C or Schedule E, multiple state filings, etc. Simple 1040 returns are at the lower end; complex business or multi-state returns are higher. We discuss fees up front so there are no surprises.

Can you handle my small business from setup through taxes?

Yes. We guide new business setup (entity selection, EIN, Washington UBI, QuickBooks), handle year-round bookkeeping, and file both federal and state business returns. One CPA, start to finish.

Do you work with clients outside Arlington?

Absolutely. Most documents can be exchanged through our secure client portal, and meetings can be done by phone or video call. We have clients throughout Snohomish County and Washington State.

I received an IRS notice. What do I do?

Don't ignore it, and don't panic. Call us first. Most IRS notices are routine and have clear responses. We handle the communication so you don't have to. Call 360-435-3440 right away.

Do I need to file if I didn't make much money?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no — depends on filing status, age, and type of income. Even if you're not required to file, you may want to (for refundable credits, Social Security recordkeeping, or future FAFSA needs). A 10-minute call can answer this.

Can I file my old back tax returns?

Yes. We prepare prior-year returns (sometimes going back several years). If you're owed a refund from a prior year, you typically have 3 years to claim it. If you owe, it's best to file as soon as possible to stop penalties and interest.

Do you e-file?

Yes. All returns are e-filed with the IRS and Washington State (where applicable) for fastest processing and confirmation of receipt. You'll get a copy of every return for your records.
